as a big fan of ET, I'm hoping they do this as well as the 1st one. Hoping you get to see this game in some form of action, could you post your impressions of the game if you can please.
This is the one that could have me building a new pc.

I just got home to this email from activision about this, I was like WTF? I'm definitely looking for this one. I'm writing my own report and uploading the screenshot right now, I'll let you know when it's ready.

The name is confusing. I thought it was another Wolfenstein game but you fight demons from Quake.

EDIT: I guess it is... sort of.

It's not Wolfenstein, it's Enemy Territory. They are seperate games. Originally it was going to be an expansion, but instead it turned into a stand-alone franchise. ET>RTCW anyway.

A lot more than that. It wouldn't be ET if it were anything less than 8 vs 8.

I still consider Freespace a part of the Descent franchise even though they're different games. :p

In that case Tribes is a part of the Earthsiege franchise, even thought it isn't even in the same genre

The games are completely different. I have Descent and Freespace too, it's a whole different game.

I think of it like the Final Fantasy franchise (FFF?). FFT and FF:CC are totally different from the rest, but still considered part of the franchise. FFT happens to be one of my favorite FF games too. :)

Man this is good news, wasn't expecting it at all... I've been playing ET like crazy lately, I still like that game. Anything that's done by Gray Matter of Splash Damage has got to be good.

I don't have high expectations for this game.

1) It looks like a BF2 knockoff in every way.
2) id is not known for making good multiplayer games, at least not past simple "fragfest" rocket launcher stuff.
3) Most great games don't have to do all this promotional stuff. Sure, HL2 had a video our two our - two years before release - of gameplay, and it was cool, we all got excited about it. . .but did BF2 do all this movie-trailer kind of stuff? This reminds me of Daikatana.

Edit: I completely changed my post. I did write what Schadenfroh quoted from me, but decided to edit it out because it's only hearsay. I read it somewhere. . .can't remember. . .so I took it out.

Shortly after posting the trailer, the QuakeWars website advertised that it needed a dev team to make the game. . .

1) Did you play ET? If you did you would know they brought several important things to the genre that BF didn't do and even some that BF2 still doesn't do. In that way they are different.
2) The game isn't made by Id. And Id is known for some of the BEST multiplayer games ever created.
3) HL2 did dozens upon dozens of promotional things. Something every month, from previews, to screenshots, to video card promotions, to trailers, to those ingame engine videos, to several E3s. HL2 had more hype than several games combined.
