I do, look how mad they get when you tell servers you don't tip. They're bloody fvcking sheep. They can't help it, they have been trained to demand a tip. Their physical body being in the establishment earns them a tip. They are conditioned to believe this, they have no clue.

I don't believe that they don't have a clue, and I refuse to.

They don't get mad because they're ignorant, they get mad because they don't care. They won't go get a second job. They won't go get a new job. THAT'S why they're mad.

I disagree, I think the majority of servers are unaware. They are trained to believe that they deserve their 15%+ no matter what. Who trains them? Their employers do. If the employees have one fault, its that they don't question their training, their brainwashing. Why? Becuase they're making bank, they're there for the ride. All of their friends are making $10/hr or whatever. They're making $15/hr and $10 of that is un taxed...they think they have it made. Why would they question their training, most people are content in being sheep.

Nik, im not trying to fault you for not tipping. Im not trying to convince you to start tipping. Im prefectly fine with the idea of someone not feeling the need to tip. My continued investagation comes from the fact that I believe you are not tipping for the wrong reasons. Just my opinion...

Just a quick thought...Did Nik ever say he didn't tip?

Edit: N/M Nik beat me to it

He tips if the server goes "up and beyond" IIRC. That kind of service is rare, aka he rarely tips. ;)

IIRC, he tips most of the time, around 10%. IIRC.

endless shrimp deal = TOTALLY worth it...

you get:

- start off with salad
- garlic cheese biscuits, of course
- 2 different kinds of shrimp dishes and a side item
- any kind of shrimp dish (out of the ones offered), one order at a time

you get to choose from popcorn shrimp, shrimp scampi, shrimp pasta (alfredo and fetuccini), coconut shrimp, and fried shrimp...

i took full advantage of this offer... i had about.... oh... 8 or 9 orders of shrimp.

all that for $15? SO worth it. AND, whenever you're full, just ask the waiter or waitress to bring you out whatever order of shrimp you want... then, when it gets to your table, ask for the check and a box. SHRIMP LEFTOVERS!

Society is like that in general though.

People are so damn greedy and evil. I HATE people! :p

;)

I don't know why people give me grief for "not tipping" when I actually say that I DO tip.

This late at night, my reading comprehension suffers. IIRC, you said you tip if a server goes up and beyond. Who are we kidding? That kind of service is too few and too far between now a days.

Which is why I tip less and less often. That's their choice to provide sh*tty service. It's my choice not to reward that sh*tty service.

Whether the service is rare or not, I tip only when the server deserves it -i.e. did more than is required in his position. If more people would do this, the damn service industry would be a better place.

That is my basis of tipping as well, sh!tty service gets you a sh!tty tip. Mine differs in the fact that I tip when they give "standard" service too, aka, their job.

I bet it's nice to have lots of money, no over-zealous ethical convictions, and not a care in the world ;)

I bet so too...I wouldn't know though. ;):p

I can afford to tip for standard service, so I do so. I also know that everyone has to start off somewhere. This kid that is serving me my food could be putting him/herself through medical school and could be my doctor one day. Scary thought indeed, but not unimaginable.

Im not going to lie, sexy waitresses usually get more out of me. Im a sucker, what can I say.

Well if that kid gives you poor service, are you going to reward him so he stays in the food industry or are you going to beat him senseless so he hurries the hell up and finishes college? :p

No, but I will reward him/her for doing their job. He/she needs it, they're god damn sheep for christ sake. Just like if I went to a strip club, I pay cover, but I also tip for the titties. Just like if I go to a bar/club, I pay cover, I pay for drinks and I also tip the bartender.

Ah, see, that's why I don't go to strip joints either. :D

if you can't afford to tip the standard 10-15% for acceptable service, then you shouldn't be eating out to begin with.

I tip 15% for good service. For great service, I go up from there. For service lacking in attention, I may give 10%, but for bad service I often leave a coin or two to make it known I was dissatisfied.

Maybe you should go get a better paying job, or even a 2nd job. Isnt that what you said servers should do? If you cant afford to tip, shouldnt be eating out.

Im sure they would gladly lose the $1.27 tip that you usually leave just to crap in your food.
