Was at Chapters and happened to read half of it... preatty good book! After I finish reading it, what book should I get next in the series?

Excellent book~! One of my favorites =)

The other books arent quite as good from what ive heard.... but they are decent nevertheless 🙂

Umm .. the second book in the series?? I like Ender's Shadow better than the sequels though. It tells the story of Bean (he's in the book later .. don't know how far you are). It's not exactly in the series though.

OMG YES.

It is perhaps the best book I've ever read.

I want to name my baby Ender. No lie 🙂

I've read Enders Game, and Ender's Shadow. Now I'm working on Speaker for the Dead.

EDIT: In correct order, the books...

Ender-

Ender's Game
Speaker for the Dead
Xenocide
Children of the Mind

Bean -
Ender's Shadow
Shadow of the Hegemon
Shadow Puppets

Ender's series focuses on Ender, and Bean's well, focuses on Bean. Same timeframe, and many of the events are in both series, just in another characters prospective.

Great series, and highly recommended.

Heres the back of the books so you can under a little more, I typed these myself looking at the back of the book, sorry for any typos.

Ender's Game

Andrew "Ender" Wiggin thinks he is playing computer simulated war games at the Battle School; he is, in fact, engaged in something far more deseperate. Ender is the result of decades of Genetic Experimentation, Earth's attempt to make the military genius that the planet needs in its all-out war with an alien enemy.

Is Ender the general Earth needs? The only way to find out is to throw the child into ever harsher training, to chip away and find the diamond inside, or destroy him utterly. Ender Wiggin is six years old when it begins. He will grow up fast.

But Ender is not the only result of the experiment. The war with the Buggers have been raging for a hundred years, and the quest for hte perfect general has been underway for almost as long. Ender's two older siblings, Peter and Valentine, are every bit as unusual as he is, but in very different ways.

Between the three of them lie the abilities to remake a world. If, that is, the world survives.

Ender's Shadow

Andrew "Ender" Wiggin was not the only child in the Battle School; he was just the best of the best. Here is the story of another of those precocious generals, they one they call Bean - the one who became Ender's right hand, his strategist, and his friend.

Bean's past was a battle to just survive ont he streets of Rotterdam. He was a tiny child with a mind leagues beyond anyone else's. Bean's desperate struggle, and his remarkable success, brought him to the attention of the Battle School's recruiters, those people scouring hte planet for leaders, tactians, and generals to save Earth from the threat of alien invansion. Bean was sent into orbit, to the Battle School. And there he met Ender....

One of the best Sci-Fi books ever. I put it right after Dune.

Enders Shadow is also quite good. Every one in the series is good that I have read, but nothing quite touches Enders Game. Enders Shadow comes closest.

Hmm.... well Amazon.com lists Speakers of the Dead as the second book in the Series... continuing onto Xenocide (Which was published before the preceeding two books... hmm) and Ender's Shadow is all the way down the list at spot 6 I think.

I reccommend ANYTHING Orson Scott Card has written. All his books are amazing.

I just finished The Worthing Saga, and my goodness, its almost just as good as Enders Game.

I've read them all and I want more 🙁 Isn't there supposed to be another book in bean's serries? Shadow of the valley or something like that. Serious though, I've never been a fan of sci-fi type crap at all but every book in the ender/bean series ranks in the top 15 books I've ever read. Great stuff.

I planned on reading all of the books in the series. I read Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow, the best imo. I barely got through Speaker for the Dead. I read the first chapter of Xenocide, and it sucked so much I just had to stop myself... from chucking the book out my window. Although, I might read Shadow of the Hegemony and Shadow Puppets.

I don't remember the later books in the Ender's Game series. There was one about piggies and one about .. can't even remember .. what were the other books about?

I loved Ender's Game... personally i was never a big fan of Sci-Fi until Ender's Game, but the other books in the series were just bad. IMO, he's not very good at writing characters. Even if you look at Ender and Bean, although they were gifted children, they were never children. And his other books are similar. He just doesn't do a very good job with characters. I never really cared about them, and their relationship, whether antagonistic, friendship, love, just didn't seem real. What he had in Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow was that things moved quickly... once you picked it up, it was hard to put it down. The other books doesn't have the same pace, and got pretty damn silly later on.

If you want a book that will blow your mind... that is epic, who's characters (and there are dozens of them) are real, who's story is never predictable... read the series of Song of Ice and Fire. It's an R-rated book, in both violence and sex, but it's a series that will blow your mind.

I've read all of the books in both the Ender's game series and the parallel series(the one with ender's shadow, shadow of the hedgemon...)
Ender's game is the best by far, an AMAZING book. The others are still good though in my opinion. I think since you have just read or are reading Ender's game it might be interesting to read Ender's Shadow next, I know it isn't the same series, but it gives you another perspective on the story and one of the other main characters.

Enjoy🙂

Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow are good. The others in the series are blah.

edited so as to not possibly spoil the ending

I've read Ender's Game, Ender's Shadow, and Shadow of the Hegemon. I found Ender's Game and Ender's shadow to be great with the latter a bit better, but Shadow of the Hegemon had a really complicated political situation. I didn't feel like thinking when I read it.

I read all the books except the newest Shadow Puppets... I got to read half of it but the library already had a reservation when my 7 days were up! 🙁

Wow, I'd forgotten about Ender's Game.

Loved it when I read it. Good stuff 😀

thinkin' I'm gonna get me the next.
