End of the power adapter fell in the toilet, what do I do?

I pulled out my clippers to do a trim and hooked them up. I picked up the trimmers and the power cord fell out and the end landed in the toilet. The adapter is hooked up to an outlet with power.

Dry it with a hair dryer and use it. It's output voltage is low enough and the power supply is probably current limited so it probably wouldn't hurt anything even if it was shorted out.

I'm afraid to touch it for fear of being shocked, it's still hooked up to the outlet

Just unplug the end connected to the wall outlet, dry off the end that fell in the toilet, and plug it back in. seems like a pretty trivial thing to me.

Grab the cord a foot away from the wall, pull it out quick. Do it now, seriously.

Post a question about it on ATOT so you don't have to use that gray matter in between your ears.

I've been electrocuted before, so i have a fear of these types of things

The cord is insulated w/ rubber (or some kind of synthetic), and therefore it's pretty safe to just grab the cord.

Are you also afraid to touch the cord when your clippers are on? You do realize that a current is running through the cord when your clippers are on, yet it's safe to touch the cord.

Yes I have. I was working at a restaurant in high school and touched on accident some loose wires. It knocked me out and when I woke up I could not move my legs for several minutes and was scared shitless.

Unless you died from it, you were shocked, not electrocuted...

if that were the case, id have been electrocuted many times over the last 40 years.

and passed out from 120V wall? wow. 15A 120V is a good jolt, but not one that would toss ya back and knock out people. hell, i didnt even pass out when i got tickled by 220V a couple times.

op if there is a power adaptor plugged in to the socket, chances are the other end is DC. Under 12V and under 1A. You can touch that end without being hit with electricity. You can just unplug the power adaptor from the wall, lift the other end from the toilet, wash it a lot and let it dry.

If you do not feel safe doing that, turn off the breaker from the distribution panel. If you don't know which breaker the wash-room is hooked up to, turn off the main breaker, that would render your house powerless, but you won't be able to shock yourself.
