exactly.
and?
The shirtless choose to be shirtless, the exact same way gay people choose to be gay!
Whoa.
exactly.
and?
I never understood this. I have gay customers and their money spends just like anyone else's. Denying yourself extra profit to make some kind of point? Ya, I guess you really showed them.
To clarify where their confusion lies--these people fundamentally believe that gayness is a lifestyle choice; and one that can probably be cured or "fixed" through something like therapy, if necessary.
To these people, both examples are types of choices, and there really is no logical difference between denying service to personal choices.

Right, except wrong.
These people fundamentally believe that gays ought to have some respect for the convictions of others that, until very recently, were the dominant beliefs about marriage the world over.
But no. Tolerance is insufficient. Nothing short of endorsement, by force if necessary, will slake some thirsts.
love it:
"Intolerance of my intolerance is the same as bigotry!"
Shit never gets old.

In this case, it's intolerance of any substantive critical opinion of homosexual marriage. Worse, the governments involved to coerce critics into compliance.
Liberals love to argue that people are born gay. Well guess what? People are also born shirtless. Stop being such a bigot!

So denying service to the shirtless > okay.
Denying service to gays > bigotry.
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for meand there was no one left to speak for me.

I certainly think gay people ought to have some respect for the convictions of others that, until very recently, were the dominant beliefs about marriage the world over.Right, except wrong.

What 20 years ago was laughed off as unthinkable is now orthodoxy, and those that dare object are fined a hundred grand.

Yep because not being able to discriminate against your fellow citizens if you run a business serving the public is the same as Hitler's Germany....

Is it so terrible being told not to practise your intolerance on others?
Christians so unlike their Christ. How HE must weep to hear HIS message of LOVE turned to HATE!

That is NOT an excuse for government discrimination. Or for refusing service because you don't like someone's legal lifestyle.
Agreed. Although personally I don't give a flying rat fuck if any particular person respects my convictions as long as I have equality under the law. I assume most gay people would be the same, although I really don't know any gay people particularly well.Yes, they should have the exact same amount of respect for others convictions as those people have for the gay's convictions. Respect is a two way street.
