encrypt a thumb drive that will be used in OSX as well Xp

I need to encrypt a thumb drive that will be used in OSX as well Xp

i have never encrypted a drive before so where should i start?
The drive that i will be using is a Sandisk Cruzer Media 2gb drive
In OS X in the Disk Utility i just wrote 0's to it, if that matters any

Yup, truecrypt will do what you want. You will of course need truecrypt installed on both systems. (Well you can do travelers mode, but it's not the best way with mac).
