well i just installed/setup my audigy2 'value' and its working excellently so far. I see wherever soundblaster is concerned, the terms '24bit audio' pops up. now i encode my mp3's to 320kbps/48khz/16bit (with the standard roxio audio encoding utility) but is there a program that lets you encode your mp3's to 24bit/96khz?

Although I am pretty sure that 24/96 is not part of the mp3 standard (someone correct me if I am wrong), you will be hard pressed to find a CD above 16/44.1. Unless you plan on ripping DVD-Audio discs, there is no point in going above 16/44.1.

Upsampling will only make things worse. Your best bet for ripping cds is to use a lossless format like FLAC or Monkey's Audio. Unfortunately there's no way to rip DVD-Audio yet. :(
