I went to the movies with a date yesterday and we were going to see Beowulf but decided at the last minute to see enchanted.

I thought it might be a decent movie, but I was surprised. It was one of the best movies I've seen in a while :)

Great movie for all ages

I'm 25 btw.

I loved it. It was everything cheezy that I loved about the old Disney movies. And you didn't miss much by not going to Beowulf.

I saw this with my long-time college sweetheart tonight and honestly, it was greeeeeat! Hahaha! She's 24 and I'm 26. Not my typical everyday movie I would see, but it surprised me with all the positive reviews so we gave it a spin. Wow boy, I'm dizzy :)

Agreed. Saw it with my fiancee and nieces while their mother watched some adult movie.

finally saw it:)
better than i thought it would be considering it was slathered in hype. films pretty good if it survives a watch after hyping. the script was pretty clever and the actors pulled it off. it should have gotten a nomination for screenplay instead of that cr@p michael clayton. looked pretty good in hd:) amys got a few wrinkles though

How crap like Juno can be nominated for best picture and something Enchanted or August Rush can be overlooked boggles my mind.

What really boggles my mind is how Ellen Page was nominated for best actress for Juno and Amy Adams fucking blew this picture out of the water. She was amazing. She sold the whole thing. I went in to this movie not expecting much and came out seriously impressed.

yea i watched juno, it was cute but i didn't think it was better than enchanted. michael clayton is my pet hate though, i dunno how that cliche ridden patronizing pos got any good critical review let alone nomination for any other reason that politics.

I didn't enjoy any of the songs the cast performed at the Oscars. Doesn't seem like my kind of movie - for reference, I couldn't wait for Hairspray to finish. I liked some of the songs but the movie felt like it was four hours long.

But I loved 'Once', the other acclaimed musical from last year.

Most movies that mix one thing with another, like cartoon world with reality world or future with past usually are fun to watch. Star Trek "the voyage home" is my fav star trek. And Im not a star trek fan, but that mix of future tech with old world made it fun.
And the "back to the future" series were all hits.
Its fun to watch charters react when out of their element.
I'd like to see more of this from disney.

Enchanted isn't really a musical... It has musical numbers, but they aren't the point of the movie. But yeah, Hairspray SUCKED.

Do me a favor and check this movie out. It really works on just about every level.

Ellen Page acts/sounds the same character in every single movie I've seen her in.

I went to see Enchanted with my ex back when it was out. I enjoyed it quite a bit. It was like one huge Disney parody.

shes like a micro jeanine garofalo or something. i guess thats why shes interesting, she looks like a little girl but has a wise ass older chick voice and acts like a little lessie

i dunno about the stardust recommendations. i didn't like it. that wasn't a clever parody type film, it was trying to do the princess bride thing but i think it failed.

and yea hairspray was pretty hard to sit through for me. i didn't like once either, it had one half decent song and the rest tested my patience heh.
many musicals recently now that i think about it. not many i liked. only enchanted and sweeney todd i thought were great.
