I have an ASUS A8N-SLI Premium motherboard with two eVGA GeFOrce 7800GT video cards. I have the latest BIOS installed. I also have the latest NVIDIA Force 84.21 drivers installed.

This is a fresh install of Windows XP Pro SP2 with all the latest updates installed. This box hasn't even been connected to the Internet, so viruses or malware are out of the question.

WHen I try to enable the SLI feature in the NVIDIA video card contorl panel, the screen goes blank, and then appears again. I can move the mouse, but I can't click on anything else. ALso, some of the display is messed up, but some is easily still corretcly displayed. When I try to click on anything else, the same thing happens, but the screen goes blank for longer. Then when I try to do anything else, the screen goes blank again for a few seconds, then the system just reboots itself.

WHat could be wrong that is not letting me enable SLI and the system continuing to function normally? The system works flawlessly, until I enable SLI.

not sure what your board has but

either a) check the SLI connector that is betweeen the PCI-E ports and make sure its set in SLI mode.

b) if your mobo doesnt have a connector like that then yours can be selected in the bios, so go in the bios and find the SLI options (use your manual) and set it to SLI mode or 8x/8x or what ever it says

c) make sure your PS is good enough to power both cards and that you have the 6pin connectors plugged in

d) make sure you have used the SLI connector that came with your mobo

failing that, test each card individually to confirm that they are fully working. and if its still not working....come back !1!
