Enabling high resolutions in BF2

For some reason my computer won't go above 1600x1200 in BF2. Even if I manually put 2048x1536 or whatever in, BF2 just fails to set the resolutiona and goes to the desktop.

My monitor is capable of 2048x1536@74Hz and so is my video card.

First in your BF2 shortcut modify it to look like the following.
"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 2048 +szy 1536

Set szx to horizontal res and szy to vertical res.

If it still doesn't work:

I assume you're using your 7800GTX rig. So then go in NVIDIA ForceWare and the refresh rate override settings. Force all 2048x1536 to 60 Hz and see if it will run.

I looked in the latest DMP file and found this:

Error: RendDX9: Failed to create d3d device. Unknown cause. Invalid call.

You have DirectX 9.0c?

The highest res it will go is 1600x1200?

Make sure it's not a known issue in the video drivers you are using. Try the latest bleeding-edge beta ones and see if they help anything. Or maybe even try older ones.

Yeah, I have DX9.0c and I have the latest Nvidia drivers from this month.

Yeah, I have DX9.0c and I have the latest Nvidia drivers from this month.

So......your answer to that would be try older drivers

my bf2 demo won't let me go past 1280x960, and the native res on my monitor is 1280x1024... damn you EA!:|

thats the demo fenixgoon which is based off the older versions of the original game when it was released, now 1280x1024 is supported from the newer patches. Does the hack work for the demo? i dunno ive never tried it

The retail game supports 1280x1024
