Enabling DMA in WindowsXP?

Yeeny

Lifer
I noticed in CS, I am timing out between rounds, and I know I had that problem before when my DMA on my hd was not enabled. So I went to turn it on, but its not under my disk drive properties in my device manager. Is this automatically enabled in XP, or is there something special I need to do to enable it? Thanks. 🙂

Find your IDE controller(s). Most likely they'll be listed under a separate heading, might say something like 'BusMaster IDE Controller' or whatever.

Still doing some bad killing in CS, GF 😉 anyway I believe it`s under IDE/ATA controllers then your primary IDE channel then advanced settings in device manager.

🙂

Thanks guys! Thats where it is, and its on. Hmm, maybe its my cable. Anyway, thanks again and Happy Holidays! 😀
