Enabling AHCI on Windows Vista

I currenty dont have AHCI enabled in my bios. I run vista 64.
Was just reading this, and it seems like if you change that registry value, then reboot and go into bios to enable it, all should be fine. Is this true?

Go ahead & try it. You dont have anything to lose (just might not boot, but if so just change the BIOS setting).

In any event, you should for sure be able to get everything working by installing the proper version of the Intel Matrix Storage Manager.
