I just purchased this case and am waiting for it to come. I was thinking of making a a HTPC but this case seems big. First thing I want to do is paint it silver or black?

Silver or black - How pedestrian. Go to Testors.com and look at the variety of spray paints they have in the automotive model series. How about Purple Plum metalflake or Candy Apple Red?
