I don't really care, what I want is availability of files and speedy downloads.

Bittorrent > * except for music. The kazaa network (emule uses it, don't know about sharezilla) probably has the most files but in my experience downloads are slow (too many leechers).

eMule has a lot of files, but the downloads definitely are not speedy. However overall I think eMule is one of the best P2P applications. I also use DC++ and BT though.

Fixed.

Except that it's not stealing? Every attempt by the RIAA to get copyright infringement legally treated as stealing has failed. Call copyright infringement what it is, copyright infringement, don't be brainwashed by the RIAA's attempts to appear as if they have the moral high ground.

eMule has way more files then Bearshare though. If your looking for rare files eMule is hard to beat. Once you use it a while it is not that slow either.

I dunno, I'm liking bitcomet quite a bit. But it doesn't have that single centralized search feature that traditional P2P has. Slow downloads aren't to big of a concern because I have a small server thats always on...one of its dedicated tasks is P2P...WinMX and bitcomet currently.

Don't you have to pay to use a server?

What's your ISP?

Roadrunner.

Go here. Tell them your area. Look for the SERVER ADDRESSES AND URL tab. Get the address.

Do you think if more people start using it, orgs like RIAA will start becoming more aggressive towards usenet leechers and posters. I know right now usenets newsgroups are going under they're radar but what about in the future? Any comments or info?

I don't know. It's been asked and discussed before. But for now, it is much safer than BT, or anything else that is mainstream.

I think that if it becomes more popular, isps will stop providing it as a free service such as Verizon. So what I'm saying is maybe its better that we stop spreading the info regarding how to access usenet binaries. ;)

Usenet gives you virii in massive doses. It also fries your hard drive. How's that?

people who don't like emule don't understand how it works. you have to be patient, things don't necessarily d/l instantly. but it has the widest variety of full albums and software. also, you can even log into your emule via your mobile phone, and do searchs, add new downloads, etc. from your mobile, how cool is that? :)
