i d/l a few tv shows that i missed and can't get any of them to play..

used VLC & media player classic.. downloaded CCCP and another codec pack (klite i think) but still can't get any of them to play.. i get a failure to render file msg.

are they all corrupt? is there a good way to see what codec i need?

tia,

You can see what codec you need with "gspot codec information appliance", but a lot of stuff on emule is fake, it's put there by people who want to subvert p2p or deliver a virus.

Torrents for TV. Don't go downloading anything illegally though, big brother is watching you.

The workings of torrents are quite interesting, but not that complex. You basically join an interconnected 'swarm' as a 'peer' (leech) or a 'seed' (pure server) and grab parts of the file accociated with that swarm. Look it up - you'll understand it in minutes if you're a programmer.

You definately don't need to understand to use the system though, just get utorrent, go to a tracker site like mininova.org, search, click, open the .torrent file with utorrent, download. Simple as that.
