Emulators

Ok so I know this is a sticky subject but I really would like to know. Im a huge fan of Shining force 1 and 2 that were on the sega genesis. I never got the chance to get Shining Force 3 due to it being on the sega saturn. the console bombed and you cant find working ones anymore much less the game. Does anyone know of a working saturn emulator and a good place to find the game. To be clear I am more than willing to pay for both pieces of software as I heard that Shining force 3 was the last of the tactics rpg style for the series. After 3 there was a very quiet spell and then all of a sudden they decided that they no longer wanted to produce the tactics rpg's anymore and changed them to action which I refused to try.

I don't know of any emulators (nor do I think it would be easy to find as it wasn't a popular system), but I did find this Saturn for sale. I also found the game here. Neither is all that cheap though.

I have the remake of Shinning force 1 on GBA but im trying to find Shining force 3. If there was a remake or something for any current gen system let me know and i'll jump on it 🙂

I found one working emulator(tho i have no games to really test it), and one which is under dev, which supposedly will be able to play the actual Saturn CDs.

Im not sure if I'm allowed to post this stuff, so OP if you want it, PM me your email addy

SSF is probably the best one and only one still being actively developed. I tried it a few years ago and couldn't get it working but I'm sure it's improved.

one would think that with the new consoles selling old games being emulated on the systems that this one would be picked up rather quickly due to the popularity of the series.

Heh.. I know how you feel man. I was looking for Shining Force 3 for ages and finally found it on a Russian torrent site. One of the guys there was nice enough to seed every episode for me. Funny thing is one I got it, I didnt play it cause I had no time, and later, when I had time, I didn't feel like playing! I dont know if there are good emulators out there right now - been out of the scene for a while, but if I'm not mistaken good Saturn emulators are very hard to find and the best one is Japaneese...(yes it runs games at full speed with sound) I think there are translations floating around, but again, I'd have to do some major digging to find them. Contact me in private, and maybe I'll be able to send you Shining Force III. (cant guarantee it's in English though - in fact, I think at least one of the episodes was never released in English)

**NOTE*** Mods, if posting this info is in any way illegal, please let me know or delete my message. I do not wish to break any rules. Provided how old Saturn is, I don't believe this should be illegal though. 😉

Only the first episode was ever released in English. The other two are Japanese only.

Has anyone played it that can give me an idea of any differances between 1-2 and 3? Both Shining force 1 and 2 played the same with some differances but they were small.
