I'm trying to play my PS2 game on the computer but it didn't work. I downloaded an Emulator and tried it out. But I got a problem when I installed it, it goes out like this when I turn on the installed part of the program:

When I open up the Psx2 icon, I get the "Ps2 Output", this is what I see:
-help to see arguments
PCSX2 v0.9.4 save ver: 7a30000f
EEpc offset: 0x2a8, PSX pc offset: 0x208
x86Init:
CPU vender name = GenuineIntel
FamilyID = b
x86Family = Intel <R> Core<TM>2 Duo CPU E6750 @ 2.66 GHz
CPU speed = 2.677 Ghz
x86PType = Standard OEM
x86Flags = bfebfbff
x86EFlangs = 20100000
Features:
Detected MMX
Detected SSE
Detected SSE2
Detected SSE3
F1 - save state
<Shift +> F2 - cycle states
F3 - load state

(END)
-----------------
Plus, I get this whenever I click on anything related to launching anything from the little sky blue menu:
(Config)
This application has failed to start because NPPTools.dll was not found. Re-install the application may fix this problem

(Run - Execute)
Unable to load bios: 'bios/', PCSX2 can't run without that
*A window opens looking for SUPPORTED FILES* (I have no idea where the BIOS is so I just close the window)
Error loading
Error Opening CDVD Plugin

How can I fix this? Thank you.

lol, holy crap, good luck on that one. You're going to need a HELL of a lot more processing power for a PS2 emulator to run anywhere close to decent on a PC. Just go buy a PS2. They're cheap.

Last I checked (admittedly, a long while back...) these things were terribly inefficient and required a lot of processing power to run games even at 10fps. I'm curious where these have gone since those days.

It looks like you don't have a set of PS2 BIOs though, and those need to be dumped from the PS2 hardware... or torrented, but we don't condone torrenting! If you were to torrent it though, PirateBay might have one... but you shouldn't go there because torrenting is evil.

You need a PS2 BIOS to run the emulator.

I spent a little time in September fooling around with PSX2, my own PS2 BIOS, and FFX. It runs much better than I expected it to, but it's very glitchy graphically and choppy at times. Just get a PS2 and run it on your monitor.

Off of my monitor? How can you do that? I have seen people do it but never understood how it worked. Would it be possible to tell me or a link on how to?

*PS* Thanks for contributing, I know what I need to now but if I can make the tv my monitor, that would be most excellent.

Evolved... I don't see what kind of video card you have... It's preferred that you have at least an 8 series nvidia or equivalent to get anything to run at anything near acceptable speeds. (some people manage to get away with a lot less, but they either make a lot of sacrifices, play only certain games, or they lie) Currently there are very few good games that are fully supported. Resident Evil 4 runs pretty good, but still has issues here and there. Games like Street Fighter and especially Mortal Kombat, you can forget right now, because they are mostly not supported, and those that are, run extremely slow, or suffer from a host of problems such as artifacts, messed up gfx or no sound. FFX works very well according to some. There are some more games running fine, such as Kingdom Hearts, but I dont care about that kiddy stuff... (dont know about you though). God of War also doesn't run. some people got it to work "in game" but there is a ton of glitches, and the game is pretty much unplayable.

As for the BIOS, off course you don't have it! how can you possibly have it when you never downloaded it?! You need to get the PS2 BIOS files, and you cant legally have them unless you own a PS2. Now when we got that out of the way, you can get the PS2 bios through a simple google search. You'll find plenty of websites offering this stuff for download. I'm pretty sure I'm not allowed to link these things here...

Also, this is probably the wrong place to ask this question. PSX2 has it's own forums, that offer extensive guides on how to set up and run the emulator. I'll tell you in advance that getting everything working is not easy. In fact it is very hard and frustrating. You'd probably be better off playing PS2 games on a PS2 - trust me, I'm only saying this because I've been through this shit and I know how it is. If you really want to get the emulator to work, go to the PCX2 forums, find a setup guide, and read, read, READ, till your eyes feel like they are going to fall out. At this point you will probably have everything working. ;)

I'm hearing it isn't worth it so I'll go along with that. But now I would love to turn my monitor into a tv screen at will but I don't know how to do that. I suppose that is the main question at the moment. Plus I want to be able to connect my PS2 to it as well.

Why is bittorrent protocol evil? It's just a way to send data like anything else.

There are converters/adapters that can do that for sale online. You can also google for them. If I'm not mistaken(and I very well can be) I heard these things are also not easy to set up and there are some issues with them.... But I'm pretty sure they are out there, they are not too expencive, and people use them. Find out what kind of output your console has, and look for a converter from that to your PC monitor's input. I think I seen some of those converters that even have a switch which allows you to switch between your console's and PC's output at will without unplugging wires every time.
