Empire Earth

Those of you who used to enjoy playing Empire Earth might get a kick out of this. Last week I got a bigger main system drive, and to celebrate I started pulling out some old games and installing them to see if they would run on a Windows 7 64-bit DirectX 11 system. There's a post on the front page of my blog (linked below in sig) if you're interested in the details and a screenshot. The bottom line is that some games worked, some didn't, but three cheers are due to Stainless Steel Studios and Empire Earth, which worked flawlessly out of the box, in 1920 x 1200 mode. I probably haven't played this game since Linda taped Monica. Lots of fun 🙂.

I played some myself last night. Still one of my favorites that I use to exercise my brain and keep my mind from going to mush.

GTA1 and C&C Tiberian Sun worked flawlessly when I tried them after downloading the free versions.

PS: Pathetic - Microsoft's own Age of Empires 2 doesn't work properly on Vista/Win7 (toxic grass).

Yeah that's what I saw when I tried to run it: flourescent green grass. I was surprised as well.

I loved Empire Earth! Playing the stone age against others was hilarious. They would assemble a huge group of cave men and I would go in with malaria and wipe the whole group out.
