Your link suggests that a sorted emoticons list would be a nice feature to add however the OP's post makes it seem as though the list was in fact sorted until recently. 😕

It was never seemed to be sorted.

The list was the order that the items were added/installed by Jason et al.

It was sorted alphabetically at one time. I remember someone asking this before and Jason fixed it for us. I can't remember if it was the last version, or the version before that. But it seems it was lost in the upgrades.

It never was alphabetical and Zuni said that it was that way for a reason. But, he didn't give the reason.
