I understand you people. Seeing Conan is all that matters. I truly feel a knot in my stomach everytime I see a plane crash on TV or in a movie. I couldn't even watch the First Final Destination. You can call me a PUSSY all you want, but let me kill your father in a plane crash, and then you go do a victory dance everytime you see one. You wouldn't. Walk a mile in someone else's shoes. I know what those families are feeling, and I know the hurt. You don't, so shut up.
It brings back painful memories. We get it. But think about all the people killed in boating accidents, starve to death, hit with a golf ball, drown, struck by lightning, murdered, raped, etc. Each of these people (or their relatives) will remember something about the incident that changed their life. They aren't pussies for not wanting to relive it, but they shouldn't force the other 6 billion people in the world to not relive it.
If we could never talk about or view anything that brings up bad feelings for people, we would have no TV, radio, music, books, etc...
And how often are those things parodied and joked about on a national broadcast?
At least once.Anything shown on TV is a national broadcast...
Do you know what a parody is? A parody is a humorous imitation of something serious and real. A parody must be intentionally and unquestioningly mocking a real event; they must be similar.
1) Kentucky took crashed on take off. Conan had turbulence mid air.
2) Kentucky crashed in the woods, on the ground. Conan crashed in the ocean,
3) Kentucky DIAF, there was only one survivor who was critical. No one in Kentucky met anyone famous. Conan washed up on an island and met a cast member of a TV show.
Other than a plane crash, please tell me where this is so similar and so mocking that it is a parody? The plane crash was the vehicle by which to get Conan on the island with the LOST case member. I guess they could have used a boat...but why would Conan take a boat across the country to get to the Emmy's?
You sir have no idea what a parody is, and just because a plane crash was used in a plot, it doesn't mean it is a parody of slightly similar events.
You have a very basic problem with your logic. I never once said they were parodying the Kentucky crash. You, sir, have no idea what the hell you are talking about. I said they were parodying plane crashes, and out of respect for the tragedy that day they should have pulled the skit.
I make a parody of Gerald Ford dying all the time, but now that he is in bad health I won't be doing it anymore. When he dies, I certainly won't think it is a proper way to respect him.
