anyone know what these things are? it has been forwarded to me from one ofmy good friends... they are on aol, and am not sure if it is a virus or not... it was sent to everyone on her list, so thats why i am concerned, it isnt like her to send attachments...

*.eml is the extension for saved emails.

some email client save thier messages in eml format, its basically ASCII text, you can open it and read it in notepad

its the equivlant of a text file, it can include images or any data file encoded in uucode/base64 format though ahhh back when email wasnt cute
