Eminem Movie "8 MILE" due out in November

Just saw the ad for the new Eminem Movie "8 Mile" due out in November. As you may know it was filmed in Detroit and 8 Mile is a road running E-W in Detroit from Grosse Pointe to Northville. I know why he picked the name because the road is notorious for shootings, car jackings and violence. Actually, you could say that about all of Detroit.

No, I don't watch TV. But, I broke down and watched the World Series tonight and saw the Ad.

I still don't see why rappers get beaten up as much as they do. Political Rap and Gangsta Rap had more songs with messages in them that shoudl've been listened to then anythign else, besides maybe political rock. Sure, today's rappers are all about woman, money, and drugs, but that's why the rap scene calls them sellouts and doesn't consider them rappers. We dont know exactly what they are really. Read the lyrics to some of eminem's songs. Once he gets past the whole mom and wife thing, he has somethign to say, and its far more improtant then any boy/girl band will ever say. I'm not black, but I believe 2pac was the greatest musician/artist ever. The government hated him because he stood up and brought the ghetto and police corruption into the spotlight. It may not be music to your ears, but that may be because your ignorant

anyone who says 2pac was the greatest anything in terms of music should be automatically disqualified from any discussion about music...2pac has about as much to do with uncovering police corruption as Santa Claus. Oh, and you are right about today's rappers being all about money, women, and drugs....cause 2pac never sang about any of those things, had any of those things in his videos, or any of those things on his album/CD covers.......Silly us for thinking that unless you are talking about social inequality and police corruption you are not a "real" rapper...there is about as much musical "talent" in all of rap music as there is in Hanson, Eminem included.

I love the part "once you get past the whole mom and wife thing, he has something to say"...that is a classic quote. Eminem has nothing to say, and if you think he does, then you are a sucker. All he wants to do is get attention, since nothing sells like publicity. He is pretty much a little piece of garbage, and the fact that he even has a movie, let alone the fact that millions of people will go see it, is a sad commentary on the current state of American culture.

But, I understand what you're saying. I don't listen to much RAP, but sometimes it's the only way people from these areas can express themselves. If you grow up poor in the ghetto what other choices do you have? Most people would just say they should get out and make a better life for themselves. Easier said than done. If the opportunity never presents itself or if it never exists to these kids, then they never see the chance.
