HIs last album was the biggest selling of 2010 and sold something like 1.7 million in the 1st week. He's still clearly the most popular music artist out there.

uh...I'm pretty sure Gaga destroys him in sales.

the pic in OP is hilarious, though.

see--no one outside of the US gives A FUCK about Eminem. not one single fuck, even.

I'm gonna have to say Eminem is a lot more talented than Lady Gaga.

that's insane. at the very least, Gaga can actually play music. She can actually sing (not simply talk into a mike), and her writing is at least as good as Eminem--who is basically spending his time "dissin on pals," or whatever. Oh look! He just insulted someone in a clever way! whatever...

Anyway, they are both talented, and I like maybe the same amount of their work as the other (2 songs each...maybe).

Just get past that which you guys fear--her weirdness, and she's fucking talented. The other problem is that she has covered up her songwriting and performing skills with the craziness that is her Gaga character.

First of all, Eminem completely shits on Gaga as far as sales are concerned. Because Eminem cannot play an instrument doesn't just completely erase him from being talented. By your logic, every singer who does not play an instrument is not talented then? Do you consider Frank Sinatra talented?

I don't fear her, I just think she is trying too hard and it's all a fucking act. I don't think she enjoys wearing meat on her body or anything else absurd that she puts on. It's to get attention and the fact that she claims to be fighting for the "weirdos" and the people who are "picked on" etc but then turns around to make POP music loved by every teener bopper...it's ass backward. At least Eminem made music he wanted to which some was insane, some was "pop", but a lot of it pushed the boundaries as far as lyrical content.

you don't think Gaga's dippy club songs are more popular over in Europe?

Doubtful. Maybe right now they are. However, in total, she doesn't hold a candle to Em.

His worldwide album sales stand at over 86.5 million....Gaga is at ~12 million worldwide. Granted, she's only made two albums that's still an average of 6 million an album whereas Eminem is sitting at about 14.5 million per album. I can almost guarentee her next few albums will not perform well or close to as well as Eminem's later albums.

I guess I thought she had exploded more than she had. But it's only been what...1.5 years for Gaga?

MM has been around for at least 10, iirc. like I said, I think MM is insanely talented, I just don't see a lot of real songwriting ability when the bulk of your work involves new ways to dis someone, and make it rhyme.

No, one does not have to be able to play music to simply be considered talented. All I'm saying is that gives her a leg-up on Eminem, specifically.

Can he even read music?
:hmm:

Then you obviously don't know what music is, sir. Go listen to some lady with a dick talk like a dinosaur for 4 minutes.

I couldn't say that I have ever heard anything by Stefani Germanotta but my understanding is that at one time she was a classical pianist so she at some point had some familiarity with music.

You are wrong there man, the bulk of his work doesn't involve dissing celebrites, it involves a lot of emotional shit that he has been through. Take the song "Stan" for instance...have you heard it? It's quite genius how it's put together, how it gets progressively more intense and the lyrics in general.

Or one of my favorite with Jay-Z, the song "Renegade":

"See I'm a poet to some, a regular modern day Shakespeare
Jesus Christ the King of these Latter Day Saints here
To shatter the picture in which of that as they paint me
as a mother of hate, Satan and scatter-brained atheist
But that ain't the case, see it's a matter of taste
We as a people decide if Shady's as bad as they say he is
Or is he the ladder, a gateway to escape?
Media scapegoat, they can be mad at today
See it's as easy as cake, simple as whistling Dixie
while I'm wavin the pistol at sixty Christians against me"...
