If you just opened your account, it will take a day or so before you can transfer money. It doesn't even show up on the menu for a day or so.

I hunted around on the website and it doesn't look like you can change your account preferences for fund transfers from there.

You can only write them to add or change accounts. You can have two checking accounts linked to your Emigrantdirect account at one time. If you need to add one, you can do the following (posted from Emigrantdirect e-mail):

At the present time, an individual may have 2 checking accounts linked to EmigrantDirect, including the checking account you used for your initial funding deposit. To add a second checking account you must mail in a check made out to EmigrantDirect for at least one dollar with your EmigrantDirect account number and the words ?additional external account? on the Memo line. The name on the accounts must be the same. We can only accept your personal check as a second linked checking account. thanks guys. first i had to call and wait 10 minutes to get my login working, then i have to call and wait 20 minutes to transfer. someone should fire the guy who wrote this crap.

but 4.0% APY. oh well! =)
