EMI springs

Erm...

When I built my computer and especially when I was attaching the IO shield to the case.. I was doing it according to the MechBgon's guide. But sadly, I thought that the metal springs sticking out of the shield would be just on the way.. so I snapped 'em off 😱.

When I'm talking to my cell near my computer, I hear the usual sound from my speakers(popping?), dunno how to describe it. But, and a big :frown: occurs when I start hearing it with NO OTHER electronic devices on that my computer... and it can last for hours.. dunno whether it's caused my my computer then..

thanks..

Actually the new IO plate crossed my mind, but where to get them?
The shutdown of the computer didnt cross my mind and thats not an option either..
Or, is there a way to replace the missing springs with some conducting material?

I prefer easy ways to do this.

Beg your mobo mfr. for a new I/O shield. Took me a month to wheedle one out of Asus once... Or just buy one from them. And there is a guy on eBay that sells them, but at around $8.00 each.
