EMI concerns for cable routing.

Hello,

I recently did some cable maintenance inside my desktop. Nearly all my cables are routed underneath my motherboard. This includes the PSU rails, which could potentially have a fair amount of current flow (within the scope of digital electronics). My concern is EMI. Being that the rails are in direct contact with a good portion of the motherboard, is it possible for the PSU rails to induce "crosstalk" on the motherboard?

I have sold all of my physics books, but I am fairly certain that there are some practical equations for calculating the electromagnetic field surrounding a wire. I think from "perfect" world physics we could conclude if there are realistic any concerns. Thanks.

there is enough shielding and insulation in the wires to eliminate most of the crosstalk generated.

That would mostly happen with AC power. The cycling nature of it causes that magnetic field to fluctuate back and forth which can cause all sorts of noise and such in digital circuits. The field from a DC power line is steady, and since the magnetic field then isn't pulsing it doesn't cause disturbances.
