I saw a very cheap Emerson brand plasma TV in Walmart the other day. Is this a brand worth buying, or is it a horrible cheap brand? I know Emerson itself is an established and respected electronics company.
Emerson I consider bottom of the barrel as far as brands are concerned. They have been the "cheap" brand since the 1980's.
I personally wouldn't buy one as you can find similar deals for a Panasonic if you are willing to shop around. Even Wal-Mart had the 42" Panasonic Plasma for $600 about 6-8 weeks ago.

Gotta agree with the above posts. Emerson is not a respected name.
I wouldn't buy anything from Emerson that I needed to be reliable or lasting. I would only buy something if it were extremely cheap and I wouldn't be disappointed if it broke, malfunctioned, or lacked important features/compatibility.
Thanks for the replies, guys. I'm not necessarily looking to buy a TV, I just saw a very cheap Emerson TV and wondered about it's quality, or as the case may be, lack thereof.
Emerson Electric Company (Network Power, Process Management, Insinkerator etc) is a very well respected company.
Emerson the consumer electronics company is not affiliated with the Emerson electric company. Their TV's, microwaves and radios are definitely low end.
