Yes, thanks for getting us on the basic/standard package for cable and satelite. Now, don't let it hit you on the ass on the way out.
Which leads me to my opinion. I don't pay for programming. I get things from OTA HD and analog. So when I watched Food Network this Thanksgiving break, I was nearly bored to tears. It seemed like 16 minutes of prgramming with 14 minutes of ads per half hour.
I think the basic premise is: chop a small item, mug for the camera, saute something, mug for the camera, and then finally pull some completed dish out of the oven/stove top/fire...and cheesy grin for the camera with a big snifff, Ahh!
I remember when some shows either came with pertinent information on the recipe or of a neat back story that comes with the recipe. It may not have been true but it gave for a good performance.
I think Food Network is going the way of MTV. It started off with a good premise and then instead of evolving and growing, it is collapsing under the pressure to maintain profits and ad revenue.
That been said, Emeril has more time to do other things and now he can stick it to the network when they come and ask him to do specials. Besides, he's needed back in New Orleans. It still needs serious help.
