Emerging Technologies?

So I have an assignment in one of my classes. I need to find an emerging technology that already has a lot of information written about it (in the form of books, websites, AND magazines). I've been searching for the past couple of hours and am really striking out.

RFID was fairly interesting but is a no go. I have to give a presentation and two people are already doing RFID.

I was interested in OLEDs (Organic Light Emiting Diode) displays but I couldn't find a book talking about it.

I WAS thinking about doing something about HDTVs, however it isn't really an emerging technology. But then again, it hasn't been widely accepted yet. In Alaska, we are still waiting on our cable company to implement HDTV (for two who channels right now) or we can spend about $700 to get an HDTV dish installed.

Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Do you mean Biochips? If so, you can get a ton of info from engineering & science journals, like IEEE ones.

Well, the smart dust and oleds look VERY interesting, unfortunately I am having a hard time finding a book on either one. And for whatever reason, my professor is requiring one of our sources to be from a book.

I think I'm going to contact him to see what he has to say.

If you want something that's close to market look up LCOS (Liquid Crystal On Silicon), rear projection TVs based on it should be appearing in a few months. Intel is pushing this tech and apparently it will bring down the cost of big-screen TVs tremendously.
