Hi,
I was running windows 2k on an asus a7v, I switched the mobo for a msi k7t, rebooted, it detected everything, except it had trouble detecting the Via Bus Master drivers (the hard drives would load, but not the CD-Roms, so I switched to normal IDE drivers in win 2k and it worked fine, but no bus master, so I uninstalled all the IDE drivers under the device manager, thinking on the next boot, it would autodetect the bus master drivers, so I reboot and BAM - there is the win 2k blue screen - no driver for the hd to boot. So now I can't even get in with safe mode to change IDE drivers, and I have all these apps and docs that would be a pain to restore with a new install.
Here is the exact error on the bloe screen:
Inaccessible boot device
It come right after the "starting windows" status bar fills
How can I change the IDE drivers without booting into win2k (cause I can't) - anyone? please?
Otherwise that would mean a reinstall - which brings up another question - how can I get to my NTFS partition to save my docs and emails from the old install if I were to have to reinstall win2k?
If you need any other info, let me know, I'll be waiting here refreshing looking for answers.
Thanks for your help...
