Audi in Emergency Airlift as Demand Skyrockets
Audi Korea has started an airlifting operation to meet skyrocketing demand for the carmaker's A8 L 6.0 Quattro model, the company said Sunday.
"In line with the image of a high-quality car costing W235 million (US$235,000), we cannot let customers wait and are airlifting a number of A8 L 6.0 Quattro," Audi Korea chairman Son Ul-rae said. "The first batch of three has arrived at Incheon International Airport." Audi Korea is paying for the extra air transport cost of W10 million per car.
The company brought in 20 units of the car by sea, which sold out within 10 days, and has orders for another 25.
