*embarrassed smiley* dropped my ipod in the toilet...

so i'm listening to my ipod, and its inside the front pocket of my sweatshirt, and i'm going to the bathroom (standing up). for some stupid reason, i start to take out my ipod with my one free hand... and as i'm doing so... it slips out. so of course what happens? it falls, pulls out the headphones, bounces on the edge of the toilet seat, and plops in. my first reaction was to scream "OH SH!T", but then i froze because i didn't know whether to grab the ipod or flush the toilet first. after a second i just grabbed it, (it was still on!) and dried it off as fast as i can, with water pouring out of the firewire port. it was after this that it shut off, and wouldn't turn back on.

long story short, i had to open up the ipod, dry off everything i could, let it sit for a few hours, and now it works!

just would like to share this interesting story

Ummm I would have let it dry then clean the internal compnents with good CLEAN water and maybe some dis-infectant. Let it dry completely again for 1 or 2 days and THEN use it. I hope you didn't start going when you droped it. Eewwww.

unfortunately, i had already started to go when it fell in, so i'm sure it got a little... "infected." it doesnt smell right now that i can tell, but i'm going to clean it out anyways.

Generally speaking Urine is sterile, unless he dropped a deuce... use a wet nap or something to wipe it clean.

You now own a nice 10GB iPoo that has been assimliated by the Cling-ons.

At least try to get the harddrive out you could always try and use that in a portable usb drive.

I did the same thing with a nice Sony Cd player. Was pissed tried to dry it out and it didn't work.
