Embarassing ?: Does the CPU have to be unlocked in order to raise the FSB?

I don't know the answer to this question, as I've never tried to raise the FSB w/o the L1 bridges closed. My GF's PC is running an 850 TBird. It's locked. I installed it locked on purpose. I'm going over there tonight. I would like to speed up her machine a little. (Hehehe, that comment can be taken two ways! ) Can I raise the FSB w/o the CPU being unlocked? Thanks.
