email problem on hosted domain

I'm having a problem with email sent from a domain I have hosted by a host company. When I send emails to any us.ibm.com or us.lenovo.com address it comes back as unrouteable. Doesn't matter if I type in the address or just reply to mail sent to me. I can send email to these addresses from hotmail, gmail, AOL, and my work account. I opened a help desk ticket with the hosting company but they told me the domains are not valid, there are notes in the ticket about querying the nameservers and that there is no us.ibm.com mailserver.

However like I mentioned that I can send email to these domains from other email services, and I found the website http://www.dnsreport.com/ and when I put us.ibm.com there it shows around 10 servers that are all working. The emails I have gotten from us.ibm.com addresses all have originating IP addresses that match one of the server IPs listed on the dnsreport website.

I'm not real well versed in issues such as this, and I admit I am a little over my head when it comes to this, but is there any reason I shouldn't be able to send emails to those domains when I can from every other email service I've tried?

Thanks, I checked it and didn't show that it was blacklisted.

That page also has an email test that showed that the us.ibm.com domain works, so that was good

Tell your hosting company that something is up with their DNS, and that they too should check out DNSStuff if they aren't able to lookup that subdomain (and mx record) from your server.

I'll have to try it again, they told me that they looked it up from 4 spots around the globe and it wasn't valid. Maybe with the info from dnsstuff they will look into it.

Thanks for your response.

Thanks everybody for your help, the response I got from the helpdesk was that us.ibm.com absolutely does not exist, aand there is nothign they can do. So I guess I'll have to use some other email service so that I can email to this one domain, which is a large PITA since this is about a potential job. Just seems a little silly and a lot frustrating that I can't send email to everybody with this account.
