Email notifications of software updates?

Just wondering, is there a service that notifies you of specific software updates by email?
Basically a subscription list with programs you selected.

You could subscribe to vulnerability announcement mailing lists. Not quite what you asked for, but close.

Microsoft has a few for different products, for example.
