Email notifications of my subscribed threads not coming since Sat. June 28 -- Fixed!

The last email sent to me informing me of a new post in one of my subscribed threads was sent at 2:57 on Saturday, June 28.

I know for a fact that some of my subscribed threads have been getting new posts, but I had no emails.

My Default Thread Subscription Mode: Instant email notification.

I checked my ISP, and they aren't coming. What could be wrong? Thanks for your help.

Called my ISP, the rep declared that emails from forumadmin@anandtech.com are hitting their servers but I'm not getting them because your DNS and Reverse DNS are not the same, or words that I think are to that effect. He says he thinks that the ISP's policies have not changed, so by inference he thinks it's because of a change that Anandtech Forums have made. He agreed to send me an email detailing his thoughts. I'm not sure he's aware of the situation exactly, so I asked him to have a supervisor call me, and I'm in the queue for that. As soon as I get the email from the rep (my ISP is sonic.net), I'll post its content in this thread. Thank you for help.

Edit: The sonic.net rep didn't send me that email, but you have above a description of the problem, the DNS and rDNS for the email notifications don't correspond.

A tech at sonic.net, my ISP, emailed me:


it appears that you are not receiving messages from anandtech.com because the mail server does not have matching forward and reverse DNS in compliance with rfc1912.

This has evidently been fixed, finally. Started getting emails from anandtech.com again today.
