email notification suggestion

maybe this has been already covered, but a search didn't find anything. when I subscribe to a thread and get an email notification about a new post, it has a link to the thread. it would be nice to have that link automatically take me to the last page in multipage threads...or even the last post (though I don't know if that even works). a certain deal site recently started doing this and its pretty nice. no longer do i have to click on the link which takes me to the front page of the thread, and then click on whatever the last page is. what do you think?

I think this has been requested at least once before...

If i recall correctly the mods response was, It wont be happening

It wont work 🙂. Due to the fact that every user has different settings as to how many posts per page, thus the last page will be DIFFERENT for every user or most users... As most users aren't logged in there is no way to know those settings once email is received.

ahhhhh gotcha....thanks for the info. i didn't realize it'd be more involved than putting something like a "&page=LAST" thing or something in the string....ah well

There is a setting that makes it so the last post is first and first post is last. That is how my account is set up, but I just looked for the setting and could not find it.

Try Profile > Personal Options > "Would you like the messages sorted by date in Ascending or Descending order?"
