Guys just finished a dual boot setup with 98 and 2000.Running netscape in 98 and internet explorer in 2000.How do I make sure I can see all my email in both setups? If i get my messages in explorer and then go to netscape the messages I downloaded arent there. Do I check the option to leave mail on server? Thanks:confused:

I would do just like you said....leave the email on the server. It will make it the easiest and best way to handle/manage your email in both OS's.

I dont use Netscape(Its a piece of crap, usually makes any system i put it on go haywire. My opinion:)), but i think i get what your trying to say. If you select the option for Netscape to leave a copy of the message on the server, it will indeed be there if you try to get it later when use Outlook Express (i asssume you mean OE, and not IE ). BUT, if you recieve a new mail when using outlook express, it will not be there for Netscape to get later unless you select the option for Outlook express to also leave a copy on the server. Obviously you dont want them to both be set up to leave the mail on the server, or you would never really delete anything from your mailbox and your ISP would get annoyed :)

I would recommend you use outlook express for BOTH 98 and 2000, as is very easy to set up a share, and it is a great program in my opinion. What you want to do is go boot into one of the two OS, go into outlook express, and got to Tools > Options , then select the maintanence tab, and click on the button to change the Store Folder. Note the location, then boot into the OTHER OS, and go to exactly the same place in outlook express, and select the folder you noted in the first stage. It will then tell you a store is already present in that location, and ask you if you want to use that store. You want to do this.

NOw, when you check your email in either OS, they both use the same store folder, so you will have all the same directories foe your setup, and all the emails, no matter which OS you run. You will need to set up accounts and any Message rules in both OS, as they arent kept the same.

You can also set it up so that both Outlook Express will use the same Address Book, so yu will get the same Contact Information, f you need this tell me and ill post how to do it, a little registry tinkering is required.
