Since I run a well known DOD community, I was emailed by a family member who sent out a mass email to all contacts on a list from their son, who played in our servers. Our email address was in his contact list.

We replied to the email with our number and instantly got a call from a member of the family. Spoke a few words and that was that.

It really hit a little close to home....and it shouldn't. This was a horrid crime that should not go overlooked. I pray for all family, friends, and of course victims who were involved in this act.

To anyone who remotely has the same problems this young man went through, don't do it. Take it out in the gym, in a boxing match, through music....anything,but nothing is worth taking your own life as well as others....ESPECIALLY a girl (who was seeing another guy....but I still pray for her and her family).

There are people to call, places to go, with people who will listen and help you. Heck, even here, despite the rude ass people that lurk on the forums.

***Actual email***
Dear Friends,

It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you that after yesterdays events at VT, (*****will remain namelss*****) is no longer with us. I am unfamiliar with most names in this book, but felt it appropriate to inform all the names here. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

If you are in the area, I encourage you to attend the Candlelight vigil at the VT Campus. God Bless.

Except he sounded like he had severe mental problems, i doubt he could've gotten through without some professional help.

Of course I do. Out of respect, I will not post any names or information.

You can probably post the name if the victim has already been named by the media.

Out of respect I will not post any names or contacts. I just thought I would share what I could.

That's okay.. I was just saying if the victim is already publicly known I don't think it is at all disrespectful to post the name. I appreciate your sharing.
