i'm catching some flack at work for not capitalizing my sentences in my email. i noticed that some do the same on these forums, . someone please set the record straight for me. is it acceptable or what?

I do sometimes, don't somtimes..

as long as you don't capitalize everything its cool.

and spelling mistakes will you get bashed, so watch out for those

i think its damn cool! who gives a rats a$$ if you do or dont. but the thing here is ...who gives you your pay checks! gotta do what the MAN says!

when i write formal emails i use proper punctuation etc. but when i'm on here i can't be bothered :p

I always try to capitalize because people are already used to reading things that way (especially people who rarely use computers). Sometimes i make a mistake.

On a personal note, capitalization isn't a big deal. But what DOES bother me is not using decent grammar. I don't mean proper use of : or ; or such strict rules, but if you're going to make a point...Use some grammar so you can get your point across more CLEARLY!

you don't necessarily have to start the first sentence capitalized, but always make sure to put in a capital after a period. That way it adds some visual stucture to the paragraph and doesnt annoy the hell out of me.
