We Have our mail server setup so that the maximum amount of rpts's in an E-mail is 100. I figure that if you need more than a 100 you should be using a list. Does anyone think that is over the top, or do you agree with the limit?

I think its too many. But Im stingy and mean. At 100 it sounds like spam to me, but maybe someone that actually checks their email account has a better answer ;)

Hehe, I had two calls this morning where to people complained that they couldn't send mail to their 250 address Outlook group for their companies E-mail. I pretty much told them they are SOL unless they use a proper mailing list. Our old mail server allowed unlimited RCPTs and that is part of the problem... Our old mail server (Post.Office) was crippled by emails with 1000's of rcpts...

No you are not being stingy, you are being generous!

Send out a company wide email explaining the new limit and giving instructions on how to create distrobution lists.

What's with all the devils responding? ;)

Our customers are really funny. If we send out news bulletins about service updates, they complain about the spam they are receiving
from us. If you don't send them E-mails they complain that they were never imformed of the changes! Half the time people delete anything
with the words "Important Service Update" in the subject line!

Thanks for informing me that this is a generous limit... I was not aware of what was a good limit.
