Email abuse in the work place. Which gender is more guilty?

I say women do.

I work in IT at our place and when I walk around I always notice it's the ladies that are either reading jokes or looking at pictures sent via email. Our system admin has even commented that there are a lot of those chain emails going around in a few departments and most of them are made up of entirely women. The men here on the other hand tend to be the bigger internet surfers.

Between the females forwarding every chain letter they get and the males sending around dirty jokes and other crap? Tough to decide.

My girlfriend works at a real estate company.
There are several older guys who are agents. One of them in particular would always throw out sexual comments towards her, and it really fvcking pissed me off. After me lecturing her over and over, she finally reported the guy--He will get fired next time anything happens (I know, weak, huh).

Anyway though. She is constantly getting sent email chains from both guys and girls. Usually girls send her funny ones, and guys will send her "funny" ones which involve nudity, sex, etc.
She got one from a guy the other day and emailed him back, politely asking him to remove her from the mailing list and "informed him" how unprofessional that stuff is (they're using their work email).

All she has to do is report the behavior to the state labor board and that will light a fire under the people in charge.

Women by far, gossip and emails that have no point. I do the IT at the place I work at. They send all sorts of garbage to each other.

Yeah, but her best friends mom owns the place, so she can't really do that 🙂

everyone thinks sexual harrassment is a small comment, but it's actually VERY hard to sue for that....although she did the right thing, it's not harrassment unless you let them/bosses know that it's happening and you don't like it.

Yeah, the comments this guy through out were subtle, but when she would come home and tell me about it I would get so pissed. I seriously wanted to just go in there and kick this dudes ass.
Just some 60 year old pervert. They made him take down his bikini swimsuit calendar from his office, too, lol.

We had a woman who just started working with us in the middle of last year. She hadn't been there a week and she started passing around chain mails. After getting 2 or 3 of these (the last being the rat piss on the soda can hoax) I sent her a link showing that it was a hoax and also a link to the company policy concerning chain mails. I never got another chain mail form her and she never said anything about it.

But I'd say men are probably more guilty of the surfing habit in the workplace.
