i'm gonna be teaching some courses for my clients. about 3 or 4 at a time. i need 4 PC's. I saw this at emachines Link added

can anyone think of any reason not to buy this machine? or can anyone think of a less expensive way to go? most of the refurbed systems i've looked at actually cost more. i'm not looking for stability or quality here. this systems will be reformated frequently.

Edit for Link.

link added. check link and check price. we're talking $519 including a 17" monitor. suggestions are appreciated.

My guess is no. I like Acer for prebuilt systems. Or you can asseble the rigs yourself (K7S5A + Duron etc).

Don't buy the emachines. If you want subpar components for as cheap as possible roll your own boxes. Emachines charges way too much for what you actually get.

Definitely not if you have the resources to build your own (ie monkey knowledge of putting it together and an internet connection to order the parts) What type of courses? We bought an emachine for a relative and it is severely bloated. They also give you a recovery disk not a regular version of windows.

I've had two e-machines in my lifetime. The first one lasted a little less than a year. The second, barely 1 day. Some people have a lot of luck with them, but I will not ever recommend them.
