eMachines Warranty Question...

I am going to get the eMachines 6805 laptop but want to add the Hitachi 60GB 7200RPM Hard Drive and 1GB of Memory to it, but am afraid that if I do so it will void my warranty. I want to also add the 3-Year warranty through eMachines. I know I could just replace my HD and memory if I needed to send it back in, but I wanted to sell those items in order to finance the new ones. Has anyone had an experience with this? What happens if they want to replace the notebook with my upgrades in it? Will they take them out and put them in a new unit? Thanks a lot for the answers!

Well to be able to get the 1gb of memory you will have to either install a 1gb stick in the lower slot or VOID ur warranty to get to the secondary mem slot. As for the Hdd i don't see why they wouldn't give it back to you in ur new machine. This question would be better asked to the big E it self. Seeing as how it is their stuff.

PS here are some pics of one taken apart look at this ish.........

1) Adding the hard drive will not void the warranty.
2) Adding 1gb of memory will not void the warranty if AND only if you add it to the bottom slot. (like ShellGuy said)

If you add a hard drive, I suggest keeping the old one in a safe place so you can send the old one back.
