Anyone know if the Emachines T1600 AMD XP1600 computer (with 250 watt PSU) uses an ATX or Micro PSU?

Need to replace one. Thanks.

Well, do you have the box? An eduactated guess from the pictures that I've seen is that it's ATX. The problem is getting it to fit in a EMachines box...

No, I don't have the box. Belongs to a friend of mine. I looked at it this evening and looked like an ATX to me. Then I have been getting conflicting information that it's a micro, it's propriatory, etc.

What's the problem with getting into the box?

Judging from this link, the PS looks like an ATX board, so using a PS that has either a 250 or < power supply should not be a problem.. You just have to make sure it will fit in the EMachines ATX Case...

Also be sure an "aftermarket" PSU will run on an eMachine. I recall "aftermarket" PSUs not working with Dells.

I appreciate the replies and links. However, am already aware Emachines sells replacement PSU's and the PSU needs to fit, etc. But am not impressed with their price/quality ratio. What I would like to do is replace the failed PSU with a better one, say an Antec for example, with a better price/quality ratio.

So maybe a better question should have been, has anyone replaced the PSU in a Emachines T1600 with a "non-Emachines" brand?
