I think this deserves its own thread. My formerly beloved M6805 has developed the dreaded CRACK on one of the two screen hinges. It's about one jagged inch long. Looks ugly. I haven't contacted eMachines, but notebook forums elsewhere indicate that this is a widespread problem. Supposedly, eMachines claims that it is a cosmetic flaw not covered by warranty.
If eMachines doesn't fix my problem, I'll have to come up with a drastic measure.
Do you think it's truly cosmetic? The crack is not a functional problem?
edit: The crack is less than one inch and is "hairline" wide. I guess I'm overreacting. What concerns me is that I no longer need the eMachines (My new company has provided me with a laptop) and I don't want trouble selling it. I'd keep the eMachines but it's a luxury I cannot afford.
