eMachines eView 15" Monitor

My brother needs to find a really cheap monitor for his girlfriend's computer (All she does is email and download music). Best Buy has an eMachines eView 15" eView 15P monitor for only 40 bucks, 62 shipped. Does anyone know anything about this monitor? We don't really care if it looks good, but it needs to at least last for a few years.

I think this monitor only has a year warranty on it. But, from my experience with monitors, if a monitor makes it the first few days, it's probably gonna be alright. Heck, for 62.00, if it only made it two years, you got your money's worth, but, it will probably last a few years, if not moved all over the country like I do with some 🙂

eMachines had at least one strange monitor. It would only sync to certain refreshrates and, IIRC, did not have a 640x480 resolution option (or something strange like that). Maybe it was something else. My Sis-in-law bought one for a PC I built them and it wouldn't work correctly with the TnT card. I read up on it and I know it had some strange specs.

Told her to return it and replace it for another monitor and that worked fine.

My Advice: Don't skimp on the monitor. Your/Her/There Eyes will thank you later. Maybe she'll use the computer more if there's a better monitor... etc.
