Just saw this on another site as well. Curious if this is "nforce" or "nforce2"?

How are emachines rating nowadays? I remember them being low-cost for a reason for quite some time. Since I'm simply "upgrading" a PC for about this same cost, it would be very interesting to get a bunch of extra parts to sell off out of it.

From what I hear, emachine has improved quite a bit from the early days. I remember those early emachines had loads of problems........

I'd consider emachines hardware as similar quality to Dell hardware. Their service is likely not as good, price is a bit better. As long as you can do your own trouble-shooting, I'd say emachines is better than Dell.

Just my $0.02

I tired looking to see if it was nforce1 or 2, but this model isn't listed on emachine's website.

The rebates require and additional purchase of a scanner or printer.

Any idea how this affects getting the rebate?

There is a lexmark printer you can stack this deal with. $50 MIR on the printer makes the whole deal $419.99 AR. You could also buy any scanner instead. They've got a cheapo canon for $44.99
