i just built a new system via parts but saw this at costco friday. it looked reasonable. i don't recall all the specifics but:

amd 2600+
256 ram
80gb drive don't know speed
integrated gforce video (with agp slot for expansion one big reason i thought it might be ok)
modem
i think it had two optical drives with at least one cdrw probably no dvd
integrated ethernet
a set of inexpensive speakers
oh i also think it comes with xp (probably home) and some other productivity software like ms money

good luck and also if you go be aware that items slated for removal from the store have an asterik in the upper right of the price tag and discounted prices end in something other tan 99 cents i forget exactly what like 79 cents or something like that so if it slated for removal wait around and maybe you will see a discounted price.

by no means is this an awesome deal but it is ok/warm imho

I picked up one similar to it on BF from Circuit City w/ monitor for $499.

Mine had a 2700+, but the rest was the same. I also scored a 17" flat CRT.

I'm posting with it now. Nice box. eMachines has really improved! :D

Think again.

Motherboard is an FIC
RAM is Samsung PC2700
HDD is WD
DVD is a Samsung
CD-RW is a Lite-On

The case is well made... not at all flimsy. Overall, it is a very nice box.

aren't the parts refurbs? and also, in my experience, FIC sucks. of course i haven't used them since 99, but i normally go with ASUS.

As far as I know, the Athlon based eMachines all use nForce2 based motherboards. So, they are all GeForce4 MX derivatives. My gues is the T6000 uses an nForce150 A64 board....

Not hot, if you want a machine to just surf the web w/ get a Dell refurb for $200 less.

I think the big complaint with Emachines was the power supply and motherboard they used, not the other components.

true... but this could do mild gaming as well.... not to mention Costco has the best return policy in the world..
