emachine and motherboard

an emachine of mine died. I want to switch out the motherboard in it because i am sure this is the what died. Will i be able to do so and boot win xp on the new mother board? or can i get a xp cd and use the key on the back of the emachine?

Tell us what speed it is, P4, celeron, Athlon XP??

Then i can tell you what board to replace it with and your odds of success.

emachines are known for crappy power supplies.
Have you tried a different ps?
